19y.o. Lydia Deetz is an animation student who's working on a short movie based off of her favourite urban legend, one about a woman who became immortal after killing her husband and how his spirit came back for revenge. She's not very passionate about the future or even life itself, and plans to end it soon, though she really wants to finish her project, she considers it her "life's work". it's not like her parents would care that she was gone, or at least that's what she thinks. she doesn't have any friends and the only people that care about her are 2 ghosts that live in her attic named Adam and Bárbara. the only thing she had left was a boyfriend, Rory, who she didn't really love, she wasn't aware she was not into guys at the time, but he seemed like a good company until Lyds found out he was only using her to make himself look like a "good guy" to other girls, who else would date the weird girl no one likes, right? She feels like she won't lose much if she goes through with it. One of her hobbies was to go through graves and steal whatever accessories she found appealing from their owners, until she stole something from the wrong grave while in a trip with her parents outside her country, afterwards she started having vivid nightmares about eating bugs, feeling intense chest pains, realizing she had been poisoned by someone who she didn't recognize but felt very familiar etc.. until one night she dreamed about laying on a table of a very specific old abandoned church not far from where her and her parents were spending their vacation on, and once awake she took her bike and went there in the middle of the night, in search of a way to stop these night terrors, in there she found a book similar to the one Adam and Bárbara owned, she opened it and in most pages found one single word written in an almost unintelligible writing, the word? Beetlejuice. She read it once out loud, nothing happened, she flipped the page and whispered it a second time, it thundered outside, she looked around the place spooked by it but also curious that must've been a coincidence right?... "Beetlejuice" she called a third time. And all the glass in the old church shattered, suddenly everything went cold and a smell of putrid flesh could be felt in the air. the girl covered her face and flinched, the book was suddenly snatched from her hands. when she uncovered her eyes she realized just how big of a mistake she had committed.
